The news that the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is investigating Teletext Holidays over the company’s refund policy will come as little surprise to the travel trade.

According to a new study from Teletext Holidays, in a typical fortnight’s holiday, most of us get just nine days of relaxation and enjoyment out of the fourteen.

Slovenia is the latest country to announce that more Brits are visiting than ever before. For the first six months of this year, visiting Brits are up by almost a quarter. Now we are their fourth biggest market after Italy, Germany and Austria. So why are we going there? Numbers would have been inflated by the Slovenia vs England UEFA Qualifying football match in Ljubljana but having new flight connections between Southend and Maribor has helped make it easier for those in East Anglia to get there.

From Teletext Holidays comes some research which suggests that many of us are quite intolerant when we are on holiday. Or at least those surveyed by the company are.

Kids Pester for Disneyworld

Another survey, another dodgy conclusion.

This one comes from Teletext Holidays, via the travel trade magazine Travel weekly.

This says that when they asked 2000 children aged between 5 and 15 just under a quarter said that Disneyworld was their preferred destination. The next choice was Spain which was way behind with 8%.
