Be Our Guest

The campaign, Be Our Guest, is part of Leeds City Council’s wider activity to welcome visitors back to the city. It sees two of the city’s leading tourism organisations; Visit Leeds and Leeds Hotels and Venues Association (LHVA) offer a three night stay for the price of two at 12 leading hotels across Leeds, as the city welcomes visitors back for a city-break staycation.

3 nights for the price of 2 is the promotion from Leeds

By persuading visitors to stay a bit longer, the council is focussing on the attributes that the city has gained a reputation for; – its food and drink, culture, museums and galleries, family friendly activities and independent spirit.

The campaign will run throughout the summer until Thursday 2nd September, with visitors able to secure an extra night’s stay free of charge when they book a visit between Sunday and Thursday.

The line-up of hotels is not just op-market or budget hotels. The twelve span the price range so accommodation should be within the reach of everyone’s pocket.

According to the recent tourism survey carried out by Visit Leeds, 75% of all respondents are looking at short breaks of  two to three nights with a quarter of visitors “eager” to reacquaint themselves with the city’s food and drink scene.

But Leeds is also known for its shopping and 41% stated that they can’t wait to shop again in the breadth of retailers for which the city is known including well-known high street stores and luxury brands.

Championing Leeds’s independent spirit, the first 100 bookings will get to experience a taste of Leeds with a hamper made up of local Leeds produce to welcome you to the city. What’s more, Leeds City Council is also supporting Eat Leeds, which sees the best restaurants across the city offer multiple discounts and savings over the summer period.

Uncertainty around international travel should be an encouragement to more people to visit the city. Too often what’s on your own doorstep is forgotten as people think further afield believing that they know what a local destination has to offer.

This initiative should surprise some of those who feel that way.
