Choco-Laté – The Chocolate Festival in Brugge

By | Category: Travel destinations

Cacao has been tickling our taste buds for centuries, from the spicy drink in the Maya and Aztec civilizations to the popular sweet chocolate milk in Europe. Knowing that more than three people out of four love chocolate, it’s hardly surprising that there is an enormous fascination for this.
Starting today, the chocolate festival in Brugge begins: Choco-Laté is a chocolate festival like no other. It is truly the place to go for everyone who is mad about chocolate. (After meeting the ChocoStory team at the WTM this week, I can confirm that I truly wish that I was going!) And with Brugge being just a short drive from the channel ports, it makes for an easy day out for those living in the south-east especially if you can get one of the cheap Le Shuttle fares currently available.
For the next three days you can see the best chocolatiers, bakers, pastry chefs and top chefs live at work, sample magnificent chocolate creations, admire sculptors and body painters who work with chocolate and get acquainted with the latest chocolate trends. And then there is naturally also chocolate wellness, fair trade and the international Chocolate Competition.
The kids can let their hair down in the Choco Kids village. A chocolate paradise full of goodies and finger-licking workshops. In short, heaven on Earth for chocoholics.
So, if you have the time, and sufficient chocolate addiction to justify it, then I suggest that you take whatever mode of transport takes your fancy, and get over there! (all chocolates to be sent to me at the CD-Traveller address on the website….)
From 11 to 13 November, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Belfort Brugge, BELGIUM
