Travelling without insurance is risky business

By | Category: Travel news

Research by the Association of British Travel Agents has revealed that a fifth of Britons go abroad on holiday without taking out travel insurance, in the belief that the British government would cover their bills if everything went to pot.

Not so. Cameron and co won’t pay out for any mishap that might occur while you’re on your hols, so make sure you take out travel insurance. Skimping on travel insurance may seem like an easy way to save money, but it could turn out to be an expensive mistake.

Travel insurance ensures that you are not only covered should say, your boy break his leg, but also means you’re protected should a natural disaster – like the volcanic eruptions which have hit El Hierro, the smallest of The Canary Islands, this week –  occur.

CD-Traveller’s message? Travel insurance is not an option – it’s an essential.
