Today’s budget announcement from the Chancellor of the Exchequer. George Osborne, has a number of items that will impact on holidaymakers and travellers. Here is a quick summary of what CD-Traveller has spotted so far.

There is no change in the Air Passenger Duty (APD) because the government has decided that it would be illegal to introduce a per plane tax rather than an individual one. He did say that the increase due shortly has been deferred for a year. He also said that they would consult over anomalies where a trip to the Caribbean attracts a higher tax that flying to the west coast of the United States.

For the motorist traveller and holidaymaker, there is a small cut of 1p per litre fuel prices from 6pm tonight and the introduction of a fuel price stabiliser.
