Two golds for the Montague Arms

Last week the winners of the Tourism South East Awards were announced and the Montague Arms in the New Forest was the only entrant that won two of the awards It scooped both the best small hotel and the flavour of the south east awards.



The Beautiful South Awards

This is the name used by Tourism South East to describe the tourism awards that they hand out in their area. It is also a very large area in terms of size, population and the numbers of attractions and businesses.



Staycations Did Boom

Tourism South East, the body responsible for tourism in the south east of England that covers not only the south east but Oxfordshire as well, has been investigating whether the staycation really happened and how big it was. Figures from a number of other sources have shown that overseas holidays were down on 2008 but information on people who holidayed at home (the staycation as it has become known) has been largely hearsay.
