On Monday afternoon, for just over two a quarter hours, the House of Commons considered a petition (signed by more than 120,000 people) relating to taking children out of school in term-time.

According to Sian Griffiths writing in today’s Sunday Times, the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) has drawn up a guidance for head teachers as to when children can be taken out of school.

Today, a petition signed by 127,001 people will be handed to the Department of Education asking that the government reverse its decision to stop parents taking their children out of term time for up to 10 days for holidays.
