Want a BA Club World mug?

Forget it.

You can’t have one. British Airways has sold out already.

I wonder how much an old BA 747 costs? Or has the airline sold out of that too?

If you are wondering what I am talking about it is the great BA sale. Much as the rest of us clear our garages out and send stuff off to charity shops or the tip, BA has decided to flog off some of its stuff either to raise a bit of cash or as a publicity stunt to remind people it is still around.

The sale can be found at https://www.whatabuy.co.uk/british-airways/ but be patient because it took me six attempts to get into the site. It seems that there are lots of people out there who have decided that they would like to buy a souvenir of flying with the airline. And those people have snaffled quite a lot of the things that were on sale.

Having failed to buy the mugs I thought how about some slippers especially since, being at home more these days, slippers are the things I am wearing out more frequently.

No joy – the slippers have sold out too.

In fact a lot has flown (apologies to those who hate puns) off the shelves since they went on sale yesterday morning. I might stand a better chance of buying one of their old planes but then where would I park it.  A delivery van has enough of a problem getting down my lane so a plane is out of the question. That is why I settled for something smaller.

At the time of writing there are some things left. But every time I tried to see what was available up pooped a nearly blank page with “This service is unavailable” in the top left-hand corner.

Oh well, I’ll just have to back to drinking tea out of my old United Airlines mug instead of a new flashy BA one.
