Holiday World is at the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast

Whilst Destinations is happening in Great Britain, across the Irish Sea, Holiday World takes place at the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast. And like Destinations, it moves south as well but to Dublin at RDS Simmonscourt. This year it also goes to Limerick where it will be at the UL Arena in Limerick on the 18th and 19th of February.

What makes the Holiday World Shows a little different is that it encompasses a wider holiday spirit as there is a big contingent of caravans and motorhomes to look at. And to marvel at the fantastic prices that some motorhomes sell for!

Inside you will find the usual combination of different types of holidays including cruises (the cruises are in a section of their own as are the motorhomes and caravans so if you interested in just one holiday type you don’t have to walk the entire exhibition. There is even a section of weddings and honeymoons and another for the over 50’s.

Both people in the north and south of Ireland tend to make more holidays than people do on this side of the Irish Sea and that be why these two exhibitions are so well attended. Compared to those in Great Britain, a much higher percentage of the local community pay to enter these shows although they pay much less for entry.

This year, the theme of the show in Belfast is discovery and that includes that prices for holidays this year haven’t gone up by as much as you might think given the weakness of the pound.

In Dublin, it’s a different matter.  There the euro provides stable prices throughout the Eurozone but the euro has declined against the US dollar making American holidays pricier. The bargain could be Japan as the yen has dropped against most major currencies this year.

In Belfast, Holiday World will be open from 1pm – 6pm on Friday 20 January and from 11am – 5:30pm on the 21st and 22nd of January.  In Dublin, it will be open from 1-6pm on Friday the 27th of January from 11-5.30 on Saturday and Sunday. In Limerick, Holiday World from 11-5.30pm.
