How Zimbabwe promotes itself

How Zimbabwe promotes itself

Since I wrote the last tips from tour operators, three more companies have sent lists of suggestions in. So here is a summary of what they think.

Al Fresco Holidays is part of Europe’s largest provider of mobile home and camping holidays with parks in five countries and the first company specialising in that market to make suggestions for you.

Their tip for a family destination is the Vendee in south west France  because it’s more off the beaten track than other south of France destinations and offers a rugged, action packed area to explore, perfect for all but the youngest children. For a dual centre holiday, the suggest Paris Est as a great gateway park to the rest of the country, where families can easily reach it within a day’s journey, explore the city and then move on towards the south or out to the countryside for the rest of their holiday. They say that the days of last minute deals has gone and their tip is to book in advance. Make your own mind about that one!

The luxury tour operator Exsus has compiled their top five picks of where to go in 2015 for culture-loving travellers and their first tip is Japan. Partially due to a favourable exchange rate and partially due to Japanese traditions this is also their top tip. The Canadian province of Alberta is their second tip because of its scenery and wildlife which could also apply to their third tip –the Galapagos Islands.

Their fourth tip might be seen by some as unusual – Zimbabwe – but they chose it because it is virtually crowd free, meaning more exclusive wildlife encounters and because it has a good infrastructure so it is easy to get around. Chile is their final tip because they think that the film, The 33, will highlight interest in the country. The 33 refers to the trapped Chilean miners and their successful rescue of a few years ago.

Finally, the online travel agency, On the Beach, names Agadir in Morocco as its tip for best value luxury destination, closely followed by Malta and the Algarve. The Algarve also is a tip for best value 4* holiday destinations along with the Costa Brava and Malaga whereas for all-inclusive destinations, it suggests Malta, Costa Brava and Crete.
