This is the slogan being used by the Philippines to attract us to their country next year. It is being used in conjunction with their existing slogan, “It’s more fun in the Philippines.”

This large delegation of 155 people even includes a Lahing Kayumanggi Dance Troupe and Grupo Tribale disc jockey and drum beaters so that travel agents and consumers will be in no doubt of the cultural offerings that the country has.

Even if you avoid TV, travel agents and other media, you might run into things Philippine in your local restaurant or bar because they have brought with them bartenders who will be showing us how to make typical Philippine drinks using home-grown liqueur such as Mango Rum, Manille Calamansi Vodka, Don Papa Rum.

As the world’s second largest archipelago with more than 7,107 tropical islands in the Asia Pacific, the specific destinations which they will be trying to persuade travel agents and tour operators to sell to us this year are, in their words,  “pristine Huma Island in Coron-Busuanga/ Palawan, alluring Boracay in Malay/Aklan, historic Cebu and Bohol in the Visayas, refreshing Baler in Aurora, enchanting Camarines Sur in Bicol, delightful Davao-Samal-Camiguin-Siargao-Zamboanga all in Mindanao, the vibrant cities of Metropolitan Manila, and the mesmerizing 2,000-year-old Banaue Rice Terraces, fondly called Stairways to the Sky.”.

Domingo Ramon Enerio III, Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), wants 10 million visitors to his country  by 2016 so he is highlighting the all-year round appeal of his country by a calendar of events and activities that will make it more attractive to international and domestic visitors.
