Bring back the blue plaque

English Heritage’s blue plaque programme, which was launched by the Royal Society of Arts in 1866 and commemorate landmarks associated with historical figures and events, is being suspended – just three years away from the 150th anniversary of the scheme.

The suspension comes as a result of a cut in government funding, and is the first time that the scheme will be halted since the Second World War.

Here at CD-Traveller towers, we’re hoping that alternative funding can be found for the blue plaque scheme provides Brits with a link between their buildings and history. And that’s something you surely can’t put a price on.
