Hail a hotel

Can’t find a hotel during the London 2012 Olympic Games? Kip in a cab: London cabbie, David Weekes, 49, has chosen to top up his earnings during the Games by turning his Hackney carriage into affordable accommodation!

A room at Weekes’ ‘Relax-A-Taxi’ will cost just £50 per night (that’s £110 less than the average hotel price in London during the Olympics) and for that budget travellers will get a comfortbale sleeing space, curtians, solar powered radio, bedside lamp, iPad, portable fridge plus a Paddington Bear to cuddle at night.

What’s more, guests will be given the option of being driven to different locations so regardless of whether you’re dreaming of sleeping outside the Olympic Stadium or the 02, your dream could become reality (so long as it is legal to park a taxi there).

One negative? Should nature call during the night, there is no toilet but Mr Weekes is on record as saying that customers can always use the loo in his North London home should they so desire.

Fancy hailing a hotel? Rooms in this unusual accommodation can be booked through Wimdu:www.wimdu.com/offers/4VMXNLLJ
