You too can find gold in Crans-Montana

In the heart of the Swiss Alps, Crans-Montana – the internationally known resort – is offering foreign tourists a spectacular 33 percent discount for winter accommodation and ski activities.

Switzerland, apart from its cheese, chocolate and its banks, is also worldwide known for the quality of its hospitality and for the beauty of its mountain landscapes especially in the Valais region. Here heavy snow falls each year and the many winter sunny days attract all those who like to practice any kind of snow sport.

“Here we have everything a skier wants,” said Philippe Rubod, the CEO of Crans-Montana Tourism Office. Speaking to CD-Traveller, he added, “the only problem with Swiss tourism comes from the recent high level of the Swiss franc.” Swiss people, especially those living in the mountains, are very sensible. Crans-Montana faced the problem and hoped to have solved it. So to make Crans-Montana even more attractive to visit this fabulous ski resort, the Crans-Montana Tourism Office has announced the “Golden Fever in Crans-Montana” promotion, a package for 4 nights stay & 3 days’ skiing.

Stay for a minimum of four nights and a group of hotels providing a range of accommodation from luxury to budget – including chalet rentals – will offer savings of 33% off their usual prices. These packages include accommodation and breakfast. On top of that there is a free pass on EVERY ski lift in the resort during the time you are there. No wonder it’s called Gold Fever. Just the savings on the ski lifts would save you a tidy sum but with discounted accommodation, this makes for a really great offer.
This means that you can go anywhere in the 140 kilometres of runs that that are as high as “La Plaine Morte” at 3,000 metres and end below at the 1,500 metre level of Crans-Montana. And among the many ski runs, you could go down the famous “Piste Natioanale”, where this year on February 25th and 26th, will be held the Men’s Alpine Ski World Cup super-G and Giant Slalom races.
And there is more. Show your Gold Fever status and the same 33% discount will be available at many stores if you need to hire and equipment.
Are you a beginner? Maybe you’re a good skier who wants to hone your running style? Do you want to learn ski surfing? Whatever you choose, just go to the instructor’s office. Ski lessons by professional ski coaches are at the same discounted level.
The Golden Fever promotion runs all though the winter season, apart from February half term and when the World Cup races are on. Want to stay longer? No problem. The Golden Fever promotion can apply to your entire stay for both you and every member of your party. So many resorts dream of putting together mouth-watering packages like this but only Crans-Montana has done it. Many of the resort’s retailers will be providing one-day special offers. Bars and restaurants are joining in with special promotions on food and/or beverages. You will be able to identify these shops with the “33 Carat Plus” label.

Go and see your travel agent or your preferred tour operator about the Crans-Montana’s Golden Fever. Or come the easy way on Snow Jet. They have flights from London Stansted to Sion airport and from Sion it’s just a short 23 kilometre transfer to Crans-Montana. If you are travelling on Snow Jet flights, like most airlines, they’ll take your own ski equipment, boot bag and ski or snowboard bag for an extra charge.

Another popular way is to fly to Geneva, and then take a direct train from the airport to Sierre railways station. Just 200 metres away from the station, a cable car takes travellers through the Valaisan vineyards directly to the centre of Crans-Montana. A red line is painted on the pavements from the Sierre railway station to the cable car. No need even to ask your way. The tourist people in Crans-Montana have gone out of their way to make everything as easy as possible.
Another option is to board the Eurostar from St Pancras International to Paris and there, catch the TGV train to Lausanne From here, there is a direct service to Sierre railway station. And going by train means that you have no extra charges for your own skiing equipment and luggage.

So what are you waiting for? We want to see you in Crans-Montana where Swiss hospitality will give you a great welcome.
