Sick of sleeping on hard chairs in an overcrowded departure lounge when in transit? Transferring passengers at Heathrow, can now take advantage of the UK’s first ever airside bedrooms.
The 12 airside bedrooms, available to anyone flying from Terminal 3 who’s willing to cough upto £20 an hour for a single and £30 an hour for a twin, come complete with a bed, shower, television, complimentary internet access and – the icing on the cake – a mini bar, with infant cots available on request.
CD-Traveller welcomes their arrival. Airports all over Europe – step forward Schipol in Amsterdam – have airside hotels available to passengers so it’s about time the UK caught up with the rest of the continent. Yes checking into an airside lounge will add to the cost of your trip, but we reckon its money well spent if it means we are able to catch some winks in our own sound proof cabin. Plus think of all the money you’ll save by sleeping, instead of wandering around the shops…
