What’s hot

Jogging
Feeling flabby after the festive season? Hip Londoners are ditching the gym for the great outdoors; London Sightseeing Runs are following in the footsteps of cities such as Paris and New York and offering jogging tours of the capital. There are five itineraries to choose from including tours that take in the Thames, Tower of London and edgy East End. The run lasts 60 minutes and costs £25 (a t-shirt and water bottle are included in the price). To find out more visit www.londonsightseeingruns.com

Skiing and the city
Can’t make it out to the slopes this season? Fret not for London’s East Room has opened ‘Clubhouse Shoreditch’ – its very own alpine lodge which can accommodate up to 70 people. Satisfy your Alpine appetite with a bubbling, three cheese fondue, a piping hot plate of tartiflette or a mountain-size portion of Pot au Feu served straight from the fire and washed down with vin chaud. Cool as ice
21 Fahrenheit, India’s first permanent ice bar has opened in Mumbai at Oshiwara, just yards from the Mega Mall. Named 21 Fahrenheit – the bar is kept at a temperature of minus six degrees Celsius all year round.  Created by three Indian partners, Vaibhav Tandel, Aalok Purohit, and Harshan Dharmadas who previously managed the Chill Out Ice Bar in Dubai. But unlike Dubai’s ice bar and those elsewhere in the world, 21 Fahrenheit also serves hot food — even flambéed – food.

SA
Cape Town is the hot spot for 2010 according to British Airways. “Cape Town has always been a popular destination and we expect the World Cup to push it to the top of the long haul league tables as the place to be in 2010” says Sue Bates of BA.
